The Social Educators’ Association of Queensland (SEAQ) takes pleasure in inviting primary teachers of Years 3-6 to take part in a professional learning opportunity:

New ACARA Primary Curricula-

Exploring

Civics and Citizenship(Years 3-6) and

Economics and Business(Years 5-6)

 

In this workshop teachers will gain information about teaching strategies for teaching these two social science subjects and about some resources they can use. There will be a focus on concepts and inquiry learning that allows for assessment based on ACARA achievement standards.

When?  - Saturday 25th October 2014

What time?– 9.00 am to 12.15 pm. Registration from 8.30. Morning tea will be provided.

Where? –Meeting rooms, Banyo Library, 284 St Vincent’s Rd, Banyo 4014. There is plenty of parking space available. The venue is close to both the Gateway Motorway and Sandgate Road.

Cost?  - Members $25; non-members $33; pre-service teachers $15 (incl GST)

  • Civics: Dr Joy Kennedy and Joy Schultz (SEAQ)
  • Economics: Doug Cave and Ron Hanmer (Queensland Economics Teachers Association)

A QCT compliant certificate will be made available.
